Thirsty Tuesday

Thursday, 17 July 2014

I was long due a catch up with Liz so we thought it was a good idea to hit up happy hour in Soho before grabbing some dinner. We headed on down to Thirst on Greek Street which offers “stupid hour” on their huge cocktail menu.

Cocktails

On Liz’s recommendation we both ordered the Caipirinha – a lethal mixture of Veldo Barreiro Gold Cachaca, combined with fresh limes and sugar, served short over crushed ice. Problem with these bad boys is that a shot was pretty much a whole glass so after 2 each we were slurring our way through 2 months of gossip!

Next it was on to dinner at Kaslik. I first went to Kaslik a couple of years a go, and it’s been one of my favourites for Lebanese food ever since. If you go during the week, you can even use a Taste Card to get 50% off which is a real bargain.

Kaslik is a tiny little restaurant on Greek Street with Middle Eastern décor which means lots of cushions, large round metal tables and lamps hanging from the ceiling. The staff are very welcoming and can talk you through the menu if needed.

In our light headed state we couldn’t control our ordering and went slightly over board. The food is really delicious and the perfect choice if you like to order lots of small plates then all get stuck in to a big sharing feast.

We were stuffed after all the food but still thought we’d better squeeze in some Baklava and tea to try and sober up! I’m surprised I actually remembered to take any pictures at all.

A drunken shot for you!

If you fancy trying out some great Lebanese food then get yourself down to Kaslik.

  1. Looks delicious. I love Lebanese after a great trip to Beirut so I'll have to visit to relive my holiday!
