Today you are in for a treat!

I’m going to take you on a tour of a very special place from the comfort of your own home. But first I need you to make yourself comfy, turn the heating up so it’s tropical and grab yourself a mojito.

Ready?

Ok..... grab your ticket and lets go.

Jardin Marjorelle

We’re off to experience the most magnificent colours of Yves Saint Laurent’s garden in the heart of frantic, Marrakech.

Jardin Marjorelle

Jardin Majorelle.

Originally created by Jacques Majorelle, the gardens were discovered by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé in 1966, during their first stay in Marrakech. When they heard that the garden was to be sold and replaced by a hotel, they did everything to stop the project from happening. They eventually became owners of the garden and of the villa next door, and brought the life back through the years.

The garden is filled with exotic plants in brightly coloured pots, trickling water features and huge cacti towering over your head.

Its easy to see why Yves loved Jardin Majorelle, its a peaceful oasis in the heart of a chaotic city.

Never before, when surrounded by such beauty, have I felt drawn to take a photo of a wall but the colours here are so vibrant that you just can't stop yourself.

This one was my favourite!

After Yves died in 2008, his ashes were scattered in the rose garden of the Villa Oasis, next door to the Jardin Majorelle. There’s a memorial of a Roman pillar to remember Yve's life and achievements.

So if you are ever in Marrakech then make sure you come and explore this secret garden for yourself. It's the perfect place to chill out after a few hours of haggling in the souks. And if Yves Saint Laurent loved it then obviously you’ll love it too.

That's it for Marrakech, now it's back to London. Hope you enjoyed your trip!
